With Club Penguin’s annual Coins For Change holiday event coming up on December 20, we thought we’d share one example of how Coins For Change is making an impact around the world.

Disney Interactive Worlds’ Corporate Citizenship Program Director Nicole Rustad recently traveled to India to support the official launch of Coins For Change in the region. Club Penguin is partnering with India’s Ryan International Group of Institutions, a socially and environmentally conscious school system of almost 200,000 children, to promote social and environmental responsibility in the country.

Just two short years ago the province of Rajasthan, located in the small village of Udawad, was in a state of poverty. A watershed project funded by Club Penguin’s Coins For Change donation in 2010 has helped transform the district into an agricultural and community center, allowing kids to spend their days attending school rather than fetching water across long distances to nourish the plants that the community depends on.

We hope this glimpse into what Club Penguin is doing to help the world inspires you to participate in this year’s Coins for Change event, running December 20 –January 2! Find out more about Coins For Change by visiting: clubpenguin.com/global-citizenship/.
